Update: Minto Fish Facility Open House Set for August 10

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Oregon State Marine Board will host a public information meeting on the rebuilding of the Corps’ Minto Adult Fish Collection Facility on the North Santiam River on Tuesday, Aug. 10 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Lyons City Hall Council Chambers, 449 Fifth Street, Lyons. No NSWC meetings in July or August

The NSWC will take a summer break from meetings, with no meetings scheduled for July or August. Meetings will resume on Thursday, September 9th.

Stout Creek Tour

Please join North Santiam Watershed Council staff on Saturday, June 19, for a restoration tour of Stout Creek. We’ll visit several in-progress restoration/enhancement projects to see how landowners are improving water quality and wildlife habitat while still actively managing their property for multiple uses.The tour will begin at 1 pm, location TBD. Learn the River trips rescheduled

Mother Nature has caused our schedule to change again. The new dates are:
June 19     Mehama to Stayton
June 26     Fishermen’s Bend to Mehama
July 10      Packsaddle to Fishermen’s Bend

The Northwest Steelheaders general meeting is on Wednesday June 16 at Paradise Island Park at 7:00 p.m.
North Santiam River Guides Associationmeets on June 23 at Neufeldt’s in Aumsville at 6:00 p.m.

Additional information is available by calling Bill Sanderson at 503-897-3301. Scenic raft trips are available for groups on all sections of the river.

Wet Your Whistle in the Watershed Event: Friday, June 11th –6 to 9 pm

The North Santiam Watershed Council will join the Calapooia and South Santiam Watershed Councils at a joint regional fundraising event hosted by the Calapooia Brewing Company in downtown Albany (140 Hill Street NE). Please mark your calendars for this fun event with residents from your neighbor watersheds! Join us from 6-9 pm on the evening of Friday, June 11th. Live music, a limited silent auction, family-friendly outdoor area, regional brews and Calapooia Brewery’s famous root beer are just some of the fun!
