Stout Creek Request for Proposal

The North Santiam Watershed Council is pleased to announce the Request for Proposal for the Stout Creek 2011 instream project.  Project components include berm removal, placement of several large wood structures for habitat enhancement purposes, bank shaping, toe rock placement, and minor revegetation with willow and sod mats.  The mandatory pre-bid construction meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 11th at 9 a.m. We will meet on-site and discuss the RFP and the project.  A representative from the design firm will be on hand to answer technical questions and a representative from the Council will be on hand to answer contracting questions.  In order to bid on this project, a representative from your firm MUST attend the pre-bid construction meeting.  No bids will be accepted from firms who do not attend the meeting.

Please RSVP for the pre-bid construction meeting no later than Tuesday August 9th, by e-mailing sarah.dyrdahl@gmail.com or by calling 541.224.4531.  In the event that we do not get a satisfactory response, we reserve the right to reschedule the meeting.   Those who have RSVP’d will be notified of any changes to the pre-bid meeting schedule.

June 10th – Wet Your Whistle in the Watershed Fundraiser

Location: Calapooia Brewing Company

(140 Hill St NE, Albany)

Time: 6 p to 9 p

Join the North Santiam, Calapooia and South Santiam Watershed Council at the Calapooia Brewing Company  for raffle, music, beer and food. Proceeds will go to outreach tools for promoting watershed restoration.

Admission- Suggested $5 donation

Food- Choice of burger or hot dog dinner is $7 to $8.50

June 9th North Santiam Watershed Council Meeting

7:00 to 9:00 pm                           Stayton Community Center (400 Virginia St)

Agenda includes presentation by Erika Lang, Landowner Recruitment Coordinator for Calapooia-Santiam Collaboration, on progress in the Meyer Memorial Trust Willamette Model Watershed program.  Erika is the shared outreach coordinator among the North Santiam, South Santiam and Calapooia Watershed Councils.  Her primary duties include outreach to landowners and working with them to identify and plan stream restoration projects in the Meyer Memorial Trust Willamette Model Watershed program target basins.  Erika’s presentation will include information on outreach effectiveness in recruiting landowners, projects underway and projects completed.

June 4th North Santiam Watershed Council Project Tour

Join us to tour sites on Valentine Creek, Stout Creek and Snake-Deford Creek to see stream restoration projects completed with volunteer landowners.  Tour will include discussion of restoring native vegetation, controlling noxious weeds and restoring streams for salmon and steelhead along with funding programs available to assist landowners to implement projects.  Please RSVP if you have not done so yet so we have an idea of how many people to expect.  We look forward to sharing our progress in restoring North Santiam streams!
